About Risk Group

Risk Group is an integrated cyberspace, geospace and space (CGS) security risk research organization.

Risk Group Vision

Risk Group’s vision is to drive the thought leadership on “Strategic Security Risk Intelligence”!

As security risks from cyberspace, geospace and space merge and converge; strategic security risk intelligence has never been more important for individuals and entities across nations: its government, industries, organizations and academia (NGIOA) than it is now in a digital global age. Despite the inter-connectedness and inter-dependencies between cyberspace, geospace and space (CGS), nations approach so far on how best to address issues of security risk intelligence in this complex CGS ecosystem has been drawn-out, confusing and inconclusive.

While “strategic security risk intelligence” depends on security risk information from cyberspace, geospace and space, the true sign of strategic security risk intelligence is not information about risks from cyberspace, geospace and space, but imagination about its impact to individuals and entities across nations: its government, industries, organization and academia (NGIOA).

Risk Group will collect CGS risk data, evaluate the security risks and opportunities inherent in CGS trends, and provide a series of risk scenarios that would help NGIOA decision makers make contingency and strategic plans, such that no matter what future arrives, they will thrive.

Risk Group Mission

Risk Group is on a mission to epitomize collective risk intelligence of nations: its government, industries, organizations and academia (NGIOA) as the synergistic intersection among independent as well as interconnected and interdependent CGS security risks to help achieve an effective process for better collective security risk intelligence, management and governance than silo and fragmented security risk approach that we have across nations today.

Risk Group is determined to engage the collective NGIOA risk intelligence capability to manage CGS security risks—risks impacting individuals and entities across NGIOA. Having a collective NGIOA risk intelligence capability will be transformative for not only achieving CGS security but also global peace.

Risk Group Philosophy

Risk Group believes that risk management, security and peace walk together hand in hand. Though security is related to management of threats and peace to the management of conflict, risk management is related to management of security vulnerabilities as well as management of conflict, and it is not possible to conceive any one of the three without the existence of the other two. All three concepts feed into each other. Risk Group believes that the security we build for ourselves is precarious and uncertain until it is secured for everyone across nations. Tradition becomes our security, so if we build a culture of managing risks effectively it will lead us to security and security will lead us to peace.

Risk Group Approach

Risk Group will collaborate with individuals and entities across nations: its government, industries, organizations and academia (NGIOA) for the support of independent and inter-dependent cyberspace, geospace and space security risk research that is in consonant with its mission of global peace through risk management. It is Risk Group’s belief that collaboration within, between and across individuals and entities across NGIOA will be mutually beneficial to all stakeholders across nations—for not only in the identification and understanding of independent CGS security risks facing one nation, but interconnected and interdependent CGS security risks facing all nations.

Risk Group Methodology

Risk Group methodology begins with the fundamentals of a security centric integrated cyberspace, geospace and space security risk management framework for identifying, evaluating, understanding and managing the independent and inter-dependent cyberspace, geospace and space (CGS) risks facing individuals and entities across nations: its government, industries, organizations and academia (NGIOA).

The underlying premise of Risk Group’s proposed security-centric integrated CGS risk management framework (CGS-RM) is that, in the interconnected and interdependent digital global age, no individual or entity within any NGIOA can effectively manage their cyberspace, geospace, and space (CGS) security* risks independently. Even if an individual or entity manages its private and internal security risks independently, the interconnected and interdependent CGS risks facing them will undermine the isolated and independent risk management effort and program, and make the entity vulnerable to catastrophic events from CGS.

* Risk Group defines “security” as the state of NGIOA in cyberspace, geospace and space—being free from danger or threat of cyberspace

Risk Group studies the way in which the entities across nations: its government, industries, organizations and academia (NGIOA) are interconnected and inter-dependent not only with each other across nations but also in cyberspace, geospace and space (CGS). Risk Group also studies how the digital global age and the emerging technology super convergence and other technology and non-technology forces in cyberspace, geospace and space (CGS) constrain and shape individuals and entities across nations: its government, industries, organizations and academia (NGIOA). By analyzing the forces in CGS that affect decision makers across NGIOA, it is possible to understand and often predict their actions, behaviors, and decisions in CGS, which are far more interconnected and interdependent than they might otherwise appear. While others concentrate on the independent risks, Risk Group concentrates on the interconnected and interdependent cyberspace, geospace and space (CGS) risk variables for individuals and entities across nations: its government, industries, organizations and academia (NGIOA).

Risk Group analysis results in “Risk Reports” that will showcase objective, neutral and security centric integrated CGS security risk analysis based on the proposed security- centric CGS security risk management framework and system.

Why Risk Group?

The connected computers, internet and the digital global age has brought a beginning of an end to nations living in isolation, and the beginning of nations living in an interconnected and interdependent CGS global economy. Any individual nation’s ability to survive, succeed, prosper, be effective, and be influential in a digital global age will be defined and determined by a very basic and fundamental fact—its ability to compete in the changing global fundamentals of cyberspace, geospace and space. The ability to compete in the changing global fundamentals of cyberspace, geospace and space will depend on respective nation’s ability to understand the changing technology fundamentals and be able to proactively prepare for the coming security changes from CGS. Without understanding independent and interdependent CGS security risks facing individual and entities across nations: its government, industries, organizations and academia (NGIOA), it is not possible to take informed security decisions for cyberspace, geospace and space.

RISK GROUP: RESEARCH CENTERS

What risks are managed depends on what risks have been identified!

Risks are inevitable. All the tools, technology, processes, guidelines and framework in the world won’t help, if risks cannot be accurately identified, objectively evaluated and proactively managed!

Everything has risks. It is the ability to take risks that gives rise to possibility of progress and advancement. Progress and advancement is all about risk taking. Every decision-whether it be for investment, innovation, product choice, market penetration or strategy comes with risks and a possibility of failure. The fundamental reality of risks and uncertainty brings a possibility of failure, and the very promise of progress and prosperity— crushed and shattered. Amidst this, no decision makers can stand unconcerned. It is in their own interests, and their initiatives interest that they need to educate themselves with the knowledge that is necessary and essential, to identify real risks and issues.

When risk transcends initiatives, industries, borders, cultures, nations, societies and human existence, taking timely risk initiatives, is a necessary forward-looking move.

While traditional risk management can offer tools, technology, processes, guidelines and framework, it cannot provide CGS insights and integrated NGIOA security risk knowledge and understanding of CGS risks. This is where Risk Group steps in! Risk Group’s stellar reputation in cyber-security, geo-security and space-security risk industry is derived from its expertise in understanding of cyberspace, geospace, space; the changing technology fundamentals, defining broader problems of traditional risk management, creating an advanced blockchain based risk management practice, developing integrated CGS risk research designs, executing complex NGIOA integrated studies, analyzing independent and interdependent CGS risk data and identifying integrated NGIOA risks that has the biggest impact on any initiative—to help NGIOA decision makers make the most informed decision possible.

All of Risk Group’s core competencies are supported by an active commitment to on-going advanced risk research and development programs for cyberspace, geospace and space!

Risk Group’s Risk Research Centers will create actionable CGS strategic security risk research and metrics that would provide independent and actionable risk research intelligence to help entities across NGIOA develop strategic security abilities; abilities to understand the strategic security risks, strategy to survive, sustain and succeed in the most turbulent time brought on due to fundamental transformation happening in cyberspace, geospace and space.

Defining Blockchain based Security Centric Integrated Cyberspace, Geospace and Space (CGS) Security Risk Management Framework

The underlying premise of Risk Group’s Security-centric CGS Risk Management Framework (B-CGS-RM) is that, in the interconnected and interdependent digital global age, no individual or entity within any NGIOA can effectively manage their cyberspace, geospace, and space (CGS) security* risks independently. Even if an individual or entity manages its private and internal security risks independently, the interconnected and interdependent CGS security risks facing them will undermine the isolated and independent risk management effort and program, and make the entity vulnerable to catastrophic events from CGS.
